LUSH Geo Phyzz Bath Bomb

The Geo Phyzz Bath Bomb by LUSH takes a little getting used to. It makes for an unusual bath bomb experience, compared to most of the other bomb types. It even looks different, being bumpy and more rough to the touch. Whereas most LUSH bath bombs float, bubble and fizz away within 5 minutes (depending on how hot the bath water is), the Geo Phyzz is heavier, sinks midway and takes a bit longer to dissolve completely. The weight difference is what makes it great, though; more organic sea salt adds heaviness, but adds to the therapeutic effects of this bath bomb as well. While some LUSH bath bombs soften skin with oils, the bath salts here really do the job as well. It provides for a soothing home spa experience. This is a completely vegan bath bomb, and the water turns a lovely shade of green.

lush_geo_phyzzWhat’s Great: If you love bath salt, you’ll probably love the Geo Phyzz. Hawaiian sea salt and coarse sea salt are the main ingredients, along with sodium bicarbonate for the fizz, and skin-softening scented oils to create a very relaxing home spa. This is one of the most strongly scented bath bombs I’ve tried, and anyone who wants the home spa experience to linger long after the bath is over might like this bomb.

What’s Not: The Geo Phyzz has a very strong scent for a bath bomb. Pine, cypress and sandlewood make for a heady, some might say masculine, bath. The scent does linger on your skin for hours afterwards. Some of us love the aroma, others don’t; the scent is also so distinct that it makes it difficult to combine LUSH products in the bath. However, anyone who loves the heady smell of a pine forest should consider giving the Geo Phyzz a try. While no residue was left in my bathtub, older tubs that haven’t been enameled might find some salty bits left over.

What Else: Other ingredients, mostly organic, include Limonele and Gardenia extract. These serve to soften the pine scent somewhat, but are barely noticeable on their own.

Bottom Line: Some LUSH products are beloved by the masses, and others have adherents and detractors. The Geo Phyzz definitely falls into the latter category, because its smell is so strong and distinct. This LUSH bath bomb smells natural (as compared to the artificial pine scent of so many over-the- counter household cleaners), so home spa lovers who also love long walks in pine forests will like the Geo Phyzz.

Cost: $3.95
