Hotel Guanahani & Spa in St. Barth’s Debuts Major Renovation

St.Barth’s largest resort closed its doors for more than three months last year to undergo a massive renovation. The five-star Hotel Guanahani & Spa — on the northeast side of the Caribbean island, nestled at the end of Grand Cul de Sac Bay overlooking Marigot Bay — now features a villa-like Admiral Suite with two spacious bedrooms and exclusive access to a small private beach.

The name of the Admiral Suite is a reference to Christopher Columbus’ title he received from the King of Spain; Columbus discovered St. Barth’s during his second expedition to the Americas in 1493. The classy, airy suite is decorated with navigation tools such as a spy glass and a sextant as a tribute to the famous explorer:

Another new addition: the two-bedroom Serenity Suite, which also features two bathrooms. Both of these new suites fall under the Prestige Suites (or Butler Suites) umbrella — which are the top-end accommodations at Hotel Guanahani. Each of the eight Prestige Suites has its own full-time butler on hand to service guests’ every whim — whether it’s unpacking their clothes or drawing an essential-oil bath. All of the Prestige Suites now have pillow menus, new 100% organic cotton sheets and towels with natural duvets and extended decks and gardens.

Still more refurbishments around the property include new outdoor and indoor furnishings in many of the rooms, a brand-new fitness center overlooking the sea, a new watersports center, new Kids’ Club and new Boutique. Guests can use the new 2- and 6-seater electric cars to get around the property, enjoy new linens in the Spa Clarins (featuring treatments by Clarins and hair by Frederic Fekkai), and sleep on new Sealy PosturePedic mattresses and quilted pillow tops — among many other amenity upgrades.

Located on a private 16-acre peninsula amid tropical gardens, and just a convenient 15 minutes from the St. Barth’s airport, the H0tel Guanahani & Spa provides visitors with an upscale, intimate vacation. With all of its new facilities and refurbishments, it sounds as if there’s never been a better time to consider this luxurious resort if you’re looking at a very special Caribbean getaway.
