When miraval lists a spa fee at 150 dollars that actually means its 200, do the services at miraval are far more expensive, and to be quite honest, not as good. The only thing I liked better about miraval was the bed- but EVERYTHING else is better at canyon ranch. There are about 4 to 7 classes per day at miraval whereas at canyon ranch has 40 excellent classes per day. At miraval I could have the same instructor for every class whereas at canyon ranch The gym at miraval is a small room- I've stayed at hotel gyms nicer than this one. The classes are mediocre at best. Miraval is also under construction while I was here which was loud, and there spa was some sort of collection of hotel rooms. At canyon tanch the spa is a spa with beautiful showers ( more than 20) here there were two showers with no amenities in a room. There really is no comparison between these two places. If you want to go away and stay in your room and think then miraval is the place to go- however don't expect to watch tv - they only get 19 channels. And if you watch a movie you have a choice of about 30, whereas at canyon ranch there are well over 300. Canyon ranch may come out to more money- although all your expenses are up front- there are no hidden charges, and in this case you absolutely get what you pay for, canyon tanch is worth every extra cent. I have had one squamous cell cancer and a basal cell cancer removed so far. The cancers have shown up on the left arm and left hand where I get the most sun exposure while driving.
